Lillie's World

She sings, she laughs, she crys.

She eats, she sleeps, she sighs.

First Summer

Summer has arrived in Charleston. The heat keeps us inside most of the day at home or in the studio making pottery with mom. Flying North to visit family and friends was a pleasure. I'm looking forward to our visit to Germany. Sunday and time for a nap before we all go food shopping. Hope all are well.

Like her mom

As the night and days meld together into one continuous feeding and changing, Lillie resembles her mom more and more.

A Little Tooth

by Thomas Lux

Your baby grows a tooth, then two

and four, and five, then she wants some meat

directly from the bone. It's all

over:she'll learn some words, she'll fall

in love with cretins, dolts, a sweet

talker on his way to jail. And you,

your wife, get old, flyblown, and rue

nothing. You did, you loved, your feet

are sore. It's dusk. Your daughter's tall.

A DIAPER OF JOY

Three weeks with us and Lillie is
already deciding how and when the family
eats, sleeps, and plays together. Between
7 and 9pm she has informed us she is not taking any phone calls since this is her daily time to be agitated.
We don't dare disagree with the Diva.

Dear Planet Earth

On Thursday April 26th, mom and I picked up dad at the bakery around 10am and headed straight to the hospital. After hours of uncertainty and an outstanding effort by mom, I arrived at 8:35pm having experienced diffuculty making the turn earthwards towards the landing strip. Mom gave it all she had and more however, the doctors assisted me in a dramatic entrance. Dad forgot the baseball glove he promised to catch me with. Two days later I was loaded into the old Volvo and taken home to Grandma and Grandpa who came all the way from Germany to greet me. These days I enjoy eating, sleeping, and having my diaper changed (Dad says"just like my Uncle Joe"). I hope to meet everyone soon. Love and Peace To All, Lillie Sofia
